Wounded Guardians Project

A Path Toward Wholeness and Connection for Veterans

Going From Surviving to Whole

The Wounded Guardians Project (WGP) was created for those who've returned from service carrying wounds that are often overlooked by medical professionals and don't show up on scans or in service records. These are the invisible scars: PTSD, traumatic brain injury (TBI), moral injury, and a sense of purpose that's hard to find after the uniform comes off.

For many veterans, the war doesn't end when their deployment does. The body stays on high alert, sleep becomes elusive, and the mind replays moments that defy explanation. Isolation, grief, and a loss of identity often follow, leaving veterans feeling cut off from others, from themselves, and from the life they came home to.

Some carry the weight of what they saw, while others carry the weight of what they did or couldn't do. This is moral injury: the weight of having acted against what they believe is right, or having witnessed betrayal, loss, or injustice that broke their sense of trust. It's not weakness, but the cost of caring deeply in a world that may have demanded too much.

WGP offers a way home.

Through guided retreats, time in nature, breathwork, and embodied healing practices, veterans are invited to set down the weight they've been carrying and reconnect with the parts of themselves with the parts of themselves they had to set aside to survive.

In this space, veterans begin to rebuild trust in themselves and their community. They regain a sense of control over their own lives and start to feel stable and steady again.

The WGP Program

Veterans-Only Retreats

A dedicated space exclusively for veterans to come together in a supportive environment.

These retreats may include:

  • Restorative nature immersion and mindful connection

  • Somatic and breath-based awareness practices

  • Group sharing and guided integration

  • Optional sacred plant experiences in collaboration with ICAC facilitators

  • Healthy, nourishing meals and a peaceful, private setting

Each retreat gives veterans practical tools to carry forward once they're back home.

Veteran Integration Circle - Every Sunday at 7pm Eastern

The real work begins after the retreat. Our free monthly Integration Circles offer ongoing support for veterans who want to stay connected, grounded, and on track in daily life. These circles provide a steady rhythm of community, practical tools for emotional regulation and mindfulness, and a space for honest connection with others who've walked a similar path.

Whether you're still working through the aftermath of your service or just want to stay connected, these circles are here so you don't have to do it alone.

This call is exclusively for veterans. To receive the private Zoom link, please email wgp@inekawa.org.

3-Day Veterans Retreat | August 21-23 | Clermont, FL

With Brad, Kala, Jason, and Zach

August 21-23, 2026

Inekawa’s WGP Veterans Retreat is a dedicated, veterans-only retreat created to support deep inner healing, clarity, and remembrance beyond identity, trauma, or story. Over three days, veterans gather in a trusted, confidential container to engage in non-dual teachings, guided sacred journeys with ICAC facilitators, workshops, and guided integration.

Many veterans return home only to find themselves feeling disconnected from others, from purpose, and from the deeper truth of who they are.

The Wounded Guardians Project offers a path forward. At Inekawa, we've seen that when veterans are given space to turn inward, they rebuild trust in themselves, reconnect with their community, and rediscover the balance that trauma once disrupted. Healing isn't just about feeling better. It's about veterans getting their footing back: rebuilding stability, peace, and a sense of purpose they can count on.

The Wounded Guardians Project helps make this process possible for every veteran who is ready to reconnect with themselves and rebuild from there.
